Cecilia Palacios holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude in Graphic Design from Universidad Iberoamericana as well as an MA in Graphic Design Management from Universidad Intercontinental.
Her career began in 1975 at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Information Sciences department. In 1977, she worked on Integrated Design Systems, largely focused on identity-related projects.
In 1977, she began teaching at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Diseño; later in 1984 she joined the staff of Universidad Simón Bolívar and in 1985 she joined the faculty of Universidad Iberoamericana.
Palacios moved on to Universidad Intercontinental in 1991, where she was a course professor in Basic Design, Color Theory and Methodology as well as Identity and Corporate Manual Design Workshops. She has participated in numerous national and international design congresses.
From 1996 to July 1997, she was in charge of coordinating the Universidad Intercontinental School of Graphic Design’s namesake program, until she was named the school’s director, a charge she undertook until 2008.
From 2008 until 2011, she was director of the Communications and Architecture Department, which included the Architecture, Communications, Graphic Design and Translation bachelor’s degree programs.
In July 2012 she joined the staff at Centro de Diseño, Cine y Televisión as Foundational Year Sub-Director. She took on Admissions and Promotions coordination in June 2013 and has continued in this area to the present.
