    Uzyel Karp

    Uzyel Karp, a typography and editing expert, received the 2004 Dreyfus Grant, the Mexican Media Association’s prize for the best designed art book of the year; is a two-time winner of the BAQ Prize for the best magazine in the Americas; and is a frequent recipient of the Quórum Prize.

    Karp has conducted classes and workshops at Universidad Anáhuac and at the Mexican National Fine Arts Institute’s School of Design. He received an MA in Editorial Design, Typography and Printing from the Basil School of Design.

    In Mexico, he founded the Taller de Comunicación Gráfica, a workshop that specializes in publishing projects at institutions such as the Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico’s National Institute for Anthropology and History, the National Fine Arts Institute, the Fomento Cultural Banamex and the Fundación Cultural Bancomer, among others.
