Eduardo H. Obieta
Received a licenciatura (BA equivalent) degree from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, ESIA Tecamachalco (Mexico City, 2004) and in 2003 went on to launch the Laboratorio de Arte, Arquitectura y Diseño (LAAd), where an interaction between varied disciplines as a sole medium of expression is explored (http://laad.com.mx).
Obieta has participated in design and architecture contests throughout the world, including with his project Xochimilco. Rescate de un paraíso (Xochimilco: Saving Paradise) at the V Bienal Internacional de Arquitectura y Diseño in São Paulo; and was a finalist in the Living Box Design Competition (Italy) with his project HBS, Housing Box Solution.
He has undertaken architectural design work, interventions, and remodeling projects; object design and production; and furniture design in a number of materials. As he began integrating other disciplines into his professional work, he also began experimenting with audio, video and architectural programming, alongside other processes.
In 2010, Obieta participated in the first in a series of Live Coding events, and is now a key figure on that scene in Mexico. He has also conducted numerous workshops in Mexico City, Rome, Barcelona and a number of other countries.
