The Interior Lighting Specialty is oriented to the development of creative and functional projects through design methodologies that allow conceptualizing, planning and executing integral lighting solutions. The program emphasizes the strategic use of natural light, visual comfort and energy efficiency, and integrates management tools and business criteria to develop viable and sustainable lighting projects. It focuses on interior design typologies such as retail, restaurants, offices, housing and cultural spaces.

  • Integral program: Development of lighting projects from concept to execution.
  • Design methodologies: For both lighting projects and luminaire design.
  • Focus on visual comfort: Ergonomics, control, efficient lighting and strategic use of natural light.
  • Specialized facilities: Lighting and control laboratory.
  • Execution of a real project: Like the luminous intervention Memories of light and lava, carried out in the Max Cetto House.
  • Industry linkage: Presence at the Illumination 2026 Biennial at CENTRO.

Curriculum

Who is it aimed at?

  • Interior designers, architects, lighting engineers or similar. Interest in lighting design applied to interior spaces.
  • Must have basic knowledge of the theory of light, lighting technologies and their application in spaces.

What will you be able to work on?

  • Graduates will be able to design and implement innovative and functional lighting solutions for interior spaces.
  • They will gain advanced knowledge of lighting technologies, sustainability and aesthetics.
  • They will develop skills to manage lighting projects in both residential and commercial spaces.
  • They will be able to work as lighting designers, sustainable lighting specialists or lighting consultants for events and productions.
Architect from UNAM with a Master’s degree from the TU Berlin. He directs the Vrtical studio and combines professional practice with teaching. He has won silver medals in Mexican architecture biennials, the Icons of Design Award (2019) and the Architectural League Prize of NY (2020). He has taught at several universities in Mexico and abroad.
