The Data Visualization Specialty trains experts capable of understanding and interpreting complex information through interactive dashboards, detailed maps and graphics that capture the attention of users. In the era of big data, where large volumes of information must be processed effectively, visualization allows you to transform seemingly abstract data sets into meaningful and actionable findings that facilitate understanding and serve as a basis for informed decision making in various professional contexts.

  • Comprehensive training: Combines data analysis, information design, cartography and web development.
  • Relevant tools: Training in technologies in demand in the job market (Python, JavaScript, QGis, Power BI).
    AI in data visualization: Integrates AI into analytics, agentic programming and web development to build systems that expand exploring data, formulating questions and generating hypotheses.
  • Technical-creative balance: Balance between programming and visual design skills.
  • Global industry immersion: Academic trip to SIGGRAPH 2026 in Los Angeles.

Curriculum

Who is it aimed at?

  • Professionals with backgrounds in design, communication, engineering or science looking to develop skills to transform complex data into effective and informative visualizations.

Transmedia software developer, researcher and educator. His work and research focus on applied AI, data visualization, affective and cognitive computing, algorithmic creation, procedural animation, computational simulation and philosophy of technology. He has collaborated with Microsoft, Meta, BBVA Foundation, CONAHCYT and Santander. He holds a PhD in Music Technology from UNAM.

Teachers

Graphic Communication Designer. She has worked at the newspapers Reforma, El Centro, and La Razón in Mexico. For four years, she published the opinion column “Primera Plana,” dedicated to journalistic design. She is a winner of 18 excellence awards from The Society for News Design, a gold medal from Newspaper Designing, and three silver mentions in design awards.

Bachelor’s degree in Geography from UNAM and Master’s degree in Asian and African Studies, specializing in the Middle East, from El Colegio de México. He works as a cartographer, columnist, and teaches Turkish, Arabic, and French.

Master in design studies and industrial designer. Consultant and workshop leader in creative thinking, co-creation tools, design thinking, design sprints and problem solving. He collaborates with companies and educational institutions designing experiences and facilitating workshops on creative thinking, design methods and creative processes for complex problem solving.
