
UNESCO Chairs represent a global network of educational institutions that collaborate with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote research, education and knowledge exchange in priority areas of interest. These Chairs, established in universities and institutions of higher education worldwide, address crucial issues such as peace, cultural diversity, sustainable development, human rights and development education.
Its main objective is to promote international cooperation in the field of research and education, thus strengthening institutional capacities in strategic areas for UNESCO.
Since 2024, CENTRO has hosted the UNESCO Chair “Design Methods for Democratic Access to the Imagination of the Future”, under the direction of Karla Paniagua and Jorge Camacho. The Chair’s work plan covers a four-year period of activities that include:

of workshops and participatory games oriented
to the design of futures for

analog and digital formats.
Creation of soundscapes
of the future through the specialized laboratory, developed in the specialty in Design
of Tomorrow.
of educational programs aimed at promoting
the creation of design-fiction pieces.
Organization of talks
and conferences directed both to the academic audience and to the general public, exploring practices and methodologies at the intersection of design and futures studies.
Compilation, evaluation
and development of new methods and methodological frameworks at the intersection of design
and futures.
Development and dissemination of research products documenting and analyzing these experiences.
